14/11/11 - NOVEMBER RACEMEET REPORT
We had a decent turnout for our club day on the weekend and it was encouraging to see alot of new faces, some coming from as far as Melbourne. With some of the better drivers away at South Australia there was fewer numbers in the Nitro Pro Buggy class but it was good for someone else other then Matt Griffin to win for once and Paul Goodie took the honours convincingly.
The Truggies had a large turnout and made for an intriguing battle between Shane Bostock and Norm Guthrie for the first few laps, a small mistake by Norm gave Shane the lead and he held it until the end winning by less then a lap to Norm. Wayne Helliwell finished third with his one stop Pit Strategy working well.
We combined the Novice Buggy and Truggy drivers together with made for good close racing, Jamie Bowles pulled out the Victory in his first ever race. A Set of Caster Tyres were giving to the Buggy Drivers who stuck around for the presentation. They were donated by Barmah R.C. Hobbies.
2WD Short Course Track saw a Field of 7 Trucks, Paul Garner Top Qualified and maintained top spot in the finals. Jayden Garner was impressive in one of the heats beating Paul by half a lap, he finished 2nd in the final, a greatly improved Hayden Stammers came third.
As well as 2WD SCT we had our first ever dedicated 4WD SCT class with 6 trucks. Paul Garner one again was looking the goods and top qualifying but a bad error in the final ended his day allowing Pat Davies who was close behind to take the lead and finish strongly. Jayden Garner picked up his 2nd 2nd place for the day and Peter smith finished third.
Its was a great day, everything went well, nice and dry with no rain for once. We would like to Mark for doing the BBQ thank everyone else who contributed beforehand, during and after the races . We hope to see you all next month on Saturday10th of December.
